Grand Cayman Activities:
Things To Do and See

Grand Cayman activities are found in the air, on land, at sea and underwater.

And they’re active for those that want excitement and relaxed for those who want to unwind.

Among the relaxed activities not listed on this page is going out to eat. Grand cayman has plenty of restaurants of all kinds to satisfy the most discriminating palate.

And among the active activities not listed here is the nightlife. Around 7 Mile Beach, you’ll find a host of places to dance the night away,

Grand Cayman Activities — Active

Things everyone must do and see during your stay on the island are snorkeling, and, if you’re the more adventurous type add scuba diving and parasailing to the list.

‘Try the sky’, so the advert says, with Parasailing Professionals who can introduce you gently to this experience or let you go right ahead if you’re already a seasoned parasailer. They have single, double, and triple parasails. They will also give you a discount if you book direct so give them a call at 345-916-2953

Other active Grand Cayman activities that will appeal to kids and parents alike are horse riding, kayak tours and kayaks.

Another Cayman activity that’s popular with visitors is fishing.

And for those who enjoy walking, try Grand Cayman’s nature trails.

Relaxed Activities

A more leisurely, place to visit is the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, even though it does include some walking. This tranquil spot in the center of the island is only 30 minutes drive from George Town and the airport.

Of all the activities we tried, we liked this spot so much we overdid it. You, however, get the benefit of our over-indulgence in words and photos on our Botanic Gardens page.

Other relaxed activities include the semi-submersible, the submarine, the Turtle Farm, and Stingray City or Sandbar as they don’t include a lot of effort on your part. Helicopter rides come into this group too.

Grand Cayman has its own pirate ship, the Jolly Roger, which recalls Cayman’s history. Sailing out of George Town harbor, the pirate ship does daylight and sunset cruises, as well as weddings and other charter events. You can get more details by visiting their website Jolly Roger Cruises.

Another popular Grand Cayman attraction are its butterflies and the good news here is that they are free. This particular picture is of a native Cayman butterfly, the Mangrove Buckeye. There are more Cayman bird and animal pictures on our Photos page and on our Wildlife page. For me, taking photos was one of the best Grand Cayman activities because pretty well every picture came out brilliantly and there is plenty to take.

So, if you enjoy taking photos as much as I do, and you’ve wondered how to share them with others, you might want to think about your own website. Our About Us page explains how we did it and how you might too.

As all travelers know, activities cost money so knowing where the nearest bank or financial services office is can be a ‘life’ saver.

After you’ve visited the spectacular scenery below the water at Grand Cayman, you might want to visit spectacular scenery above the waves in Peru. Peru History is one of the world’s greatest when it comes to ancient civilizations. Their cultural, archaeological and unique heritage impress visitors from all over the world.
