Scuba Diving Cayman Islands

Scuba diving Cayman Islands — the main reason the islands exist – other than banking, of course.

Cayman’s unique geology, mountainous peaks poking out from tremendous depths, provide perfect conditions for diving.

Sheer rock walls plunge into deep trenches, while shallower waters breed corals in abundance.

The variety of different experiences bring divers back year after year and ensure Grand Cayman is always high on the list of World’s Best Dive Sites.

It’s not just geography that makes Grand Cayman scuba diving a ‘best in class’. The weather and sea conditions play their part too.

Water temperatures average 78 degrees F in winter and 84 degrees F in summer. Visibility is typically more than 100 ft so you’re going to see what you came to see.

Scuba Diving Cayman Islands — Who To call

Here are some of the companies that can show you around Grand Cayman’s underwater geography. It’s as beautiful as the island itself.

First I’ll start with a company that isn’t strictly speaking a scuba diving Cayman Islands outfit at all. Cathy Church’s Underwater Photo Centre and Gallery (345-949-7415) on South Church street not only rents cameras, it provides instructional charters on how to take underwater pictures. Go to: www.cathychurch.com for details.

So you don’t think Cathy Church was responsible for the pictures on this site, I promise they’re all our own — and I’ve no doubt they would have been much better with some tuition from them.

Now on to companies that focus on Grand Cayman scuba diving:

Dive Tech (345-946-56580 dives at two locations, Turtle Reef and Cobalt Coast. They provide many different Cayman diving experiences, including night dives. Learn more at: www.divetech.com
